I have finished setting up the display and routing the wiring in a clean fashion. This display is designed to be modular and flexible in height, width and depth. This enables me to display in many settings and makes alterations relatively simple. This particular setup has been specifically built to hide wiring for lights and provide a location for transformers and connections. Custom displays fit ones needs while at the same time attracting attention on there own a good symbiotic relationship.

On the outside looking in

The display that was originally built for Colorado Springs airport has now found a new home at Halls Walls. This display is designed to be configurable to many different areas and applications. The lights on my display are all prototypes used to refine the fixtures details. Setting up displays is time consuming and from start to finish this one took about four hours. Tomorrow I will return to touch up some details and plan for the display of my hanging lights. All the lights on this display combined use less power than a 40 watt light bulb! Check out my archive for more images of my lights.

Transformer assembly

I am altering the transformer assembly to separate hanging and free standing light displays. In this photo you see the special current limiting transformers that apply the correct power to the leds. Also in the picture is the power cord I'm showing this because this cord has a fuse built into the plug end. This is important so that you're transformer and anything else is protected from the source. It also simplifies exposed electrical connections within the transformer enclosure. When wiring electrical connections it is important to keep low voltage and line voltage separate so there is no possibility of cross shorting between the two systems. These particular transformers have a ranged input and output making them extremely versatile. Soon I will upload a contacts page with links to many resources that I use and support.

After working on compiling and organizing material for a long time I am now on my way toward introducing it to the world. Currently operating out of free web services in order to learn and test. I have set up a functioning web site and offer a fairly large semi sorted on line photo archive. This will allow any one with web access the ability to view my work and reference where to find the services. I am impressed with all the web has to offer. I am new to this and any critique is welcome.

A good inrto is to show where it starts, at least the building part. This space has proven to be a good size and a good fit. I appreciate it every day especially on one like this when its snowing and cold. Stocked with materials and with the steel yard literally around the corner most projects can begin quickly. I am close to major streets and highways and many establishments with which I collaborate and do business. The front of the building is clean with plenty of parking and street visibility.
